Carbon-Bits produces a wide range of replacement panels for Sevens, made in carbon fibre. We’re used to seeing nosecones and wings in carbon-fibre but Carbon-Bits produces just about every panel you can imagine in carbon, including side panels, footwells, etc.

The Lotus / Caterham Seven product range is known within the Lotus 7 Club as RiF or Richard in France carbon bits. This is because the industrial chemist who developed this process is a Lotus 7 Club member with a Duratec Caterham Seven who presumably resides in France and is called Richard! :D

Carbon-Bits AKA RiF produces scuttles, interior panels, pedal boxes, exterior body panels, aeroscreens and fenders. As you may have expected, one practical advantage of composite panels, besides their aesthetic value is that they help reduce heat transferring into the cockpit area as composite materials do not conduct heat as well as aluminium does.
